Piyalepaşa İstanbul

Piyalepaşa İstanbul is Turkey's largest urban transformation project led by a private-sector developer. Built by Piyalepaşa Gayrimenkul (a subsidiary of Polat Holding) with an $800 million investment, the project occupies an 82,000 m² site in central Beyoğlu, between Taksim, Galata, Şişhane, and Beşiktaş.

Designed by award-winning architect Murat Kader, the architecture draws inspiration from Seljuk and Ottoman traditions while delivering a contemporary mixed-use neighborhood. The development comprises 760 housing units, 190 residences, offices (50,000 m²), hotels (34,000 m²), and a pedestrianized shopping street (31,000 m²) totaling 107,000 m² of residential space.

The project is uniquely designed to revive traditional Istanbul neighborhood culture — complete with grocers, bagel sellers, greengrocers, art galleries, and exclusive shops — within a modern, walkable framework. Foundation was laid in May 2016, with the first phase delivered and the second phase (Piyalepaşa İstanbul Premium) launched in August 2023.
